Written by on August 31, 2023

The second Oceania Rugby Women’s Combine was held in Suva, Fiji from the 21st -25th of August.

A total of 18 players from Papua New Guinea (PNG), Samoa and Tonga chosen from the Oceania Women’s Competition attended the week long high performance program. With a group of top international coaches and support team to guide the girls through the week.

The objective of the program is to strengthen the national teams of PNG, Samoa and Tonga. It excludes Fiji who already has a team currently in the Super W competition. The hope is that these players will take their learning to their national teams as well as provincial and club teams and be the agents of change.

Present during the week as well were coaches and head of women’s programs for Super W teams. With a hope to scout talent amongst the group of players that they can later give opportunities to for the 2024 Super W season.

Massive week of learnings that ended in game time for the girls to apply some of the things they have learnt in the week between the Combine Womens and Fijiana 15s Development team.

The weeklong program was made possible by Oceania Rugby as part of the womens pathway program supported by World Rugby.
