Vunilagi Book Club Christmas Get Together a huge success

Written by on December 13, 2023

The Vunilagi Book Club were featured in our LegendFM SM-Experience 2 years and we have been silently cheering them on as they have grown from strength to strength.

From their Facebook page comes this writeup about their Christmas party late last month.

A grey morning at USP lower campus was brightened with the sounds of children’s laughter, play, and music on Saturday 25th of November as Vunilagi Book Club descended upon its grounds with books, food, drinks, and sporting equipment.
Preparations were underway to celebrate another year of reading adventures and the children were excited! The morning began with a speech from chief guest Mr Solomone Rabuli from Selfless Fiji who encouraged the children to persevere through life’s challenges and keep doing their best because he faced similar struggles as a child but is now a successful person because he never gave up.

The children then broke into their dance groups performing energetically throughout the morning with the support of our MCs Tyrone Thomas and Joana Ravono from FM96. This was followed by songs led by Epeli which included a moving farewell song to Mariana which she greatly appreciated.
Afterwards, the children ran out and played volleyball, rugby, and a number of fun racing activities before returning into the fale where they ate pizza, fruits, cookies, cake, and drank up some refreshing juice.
Following tradition, the Vunilagi team gave out Christmas gifts consisting of books to the children who were safely returned home in a shuttle van.
Vunilagi would like to acknowledge and thank the following people for their support and contributions:
Amanda Erasito
Lorraine Reiher
