In this Northwest African nation, divorce is not only common but celebrated. Especially for women, who often find themselves at the center of elaborate festivities marking the end of their marriage.

The “Divorce Market” is not a traditional marketplace but more of a metaphorical space where divorced woman can re-establish their social status and are considered very desirable for remarriage.
