Oceania Rugby 7s Championship 2023 held on the 10th-12th November at Ballymore Stadium had a lot at stake.
Used as an Olympic Qualifer it had 18 teams fighting for just two Olympic spots.
Only one of ten men’s sides will qualify for Paris 2024 while only one of eight women’s teams will book their ticket to France next year.
Fijiana 7s after a massive 54- 0 win over PNG managed to secure there spot to Paris.
Fijiana 7s had been playing well through out the tournament and it was celebrations for the Fijiana 7s camp when they secured their spot.
This means that they now are qualified and hope that they will be up on the podium again at following the Bronze medal finish in Tokyo.
In the men’s category Manu Samoa 7s managed to book themselves a place to France next year.
Congratulations to both Fijiana 7s and Manu Samoa 7s in qualifying for the Olympics and we also wish them both the best in preparations and at Paris Olympics 2024.
