Tracy Chapman first Black woman to write top US country song

A version of Chapman’s song Fast Car – which she solely wrote – has reached number one on US country chart, making history.
Tracy Chapman’s song Fast Car was a hit 1988 now 35 years later, the song has offered another breakthrough, making Chapman the first Black woman to have a sole writing credit on a number-one country song.
This is because of the latest version of the song recorded by country star Luke Combs.
While there has been a lot of things being said about Combs version of the song there those that agree that at least now the younger generation can appreciate and experience Chapmans music.
What does Tracy Chapman say about all this? Well, she obviously never expected it but she is happy about it.
