Gibson portrays Sir William Wallace, a late-13th century Scottish warrior who led the Scots in the First War of Scottish Independence against King Edward I of England… who killed his bride a day after their marriage. And executed many Scotsmen in his reign, Leading his army into battles that become a war, his advance into England threatens King Edward I’s throne before he is captured and executed, but not before becoming a symbol for a free Scotland. This is definitely an iconic movie worth the rewatch!
