Boy Healing Speech Impediments in Children Sought After

Pita, from the photos and videos released online about what he does,  seems to be your average, everyday, young iTaukei boy who is just trying to get through his teenage years the same way we all did once. For Pita though, his traditional method of healing speech impediments in young children has seen people travel from far and wide around Viti Levu to see him. People of all races have sought out the lad from Kumi Village in Verata, Tailevu.

What does he do? It is claimed that Pita has been blessed with the traditional “mana” to heal speech impediments in children. He blows into their mouth and with a few quick breaths, his session with a child is over for the day. The parents then head home and wait on the results. Some see him more than once. Some parents are seeing him with children from as early as 1 year of age up to 5-7 years of age with no one coming back to claim that it has not worked for them. Even certified nurses have backed up this claim. Nothing but good reviews for our boy Pita.

For those of us who were brought up in the old ways, we know that this is along the same lines as telling your friend from Beqa to get away from your lovo while it’s cooking but at the same time knowing to go looking for them to touch a burn on your body.
