How many times have you complained about the long lines at the supermarket when all you want to do is run in and grab your one item and shoot back home? Well if this sounds like you, there’s this new thing that they’re doing in the US and the UK that might interest you. Where you just walk in grab what you need and walk out. No cashier, no lines, no errors in scanning your goods, no waiting for supervisors over-ride. Just smooth sailing.
Amazon Go is an e-commerce mobile application that enables consumers to purchase items in physical stores without waiting in lines or checking out with registers. Amazon Go uses machine learning, sensor technology, machine vision and artificial intelligence (AI) similar to that found in self-driving cars.

I love the convenience of it all however I fear the outcome of the systems malfunction (whatever that will look like) and I don’t like the idea of technology taking the place of a human being’s job.
