Tongan Volcanic Eruption Heard Clearly Hundreds of Miles Away

At this stage most of us are fully aware of what happened in Tonga over the weekend, with loud booms heard all across Fiji and even in Samoa. For those in the Lau, some of them heard the explosion itself and very clearly.  Just to give some perspective on how loud the eruption was, Lakeba is 318 miles away from Tonga, Suva is 143 miles away from Lautoka. So the distance is pretty large.
